Narayangaon

  • Narayangaon is an important towns in Junnar Taluka (Pune District), its famous for natural beauty.
  • Water is abundant because of its proximity to major dams, the western ghats, and the Sahyadri mountain range.
  • Narayangaon is also famous for its splendid natural beauty. It has emerged as a major exporter of table grapes. Grapes from here are exported to mainly Middle-East and Europe.
  • Narayangaon is close to five major dams.
  • The nearest being Yedgaon Dam on the Kukadi river, is just 10 kilometers to the North.
  • Vadaj Dam on Mina river is 16 kilometers to the West.
  • Pimpalgaon Joga 30 kilometers to the North-West
  • Manikdoha 25 kilometers to North-West.
  • Chilhewadi 25 Kilometers to North.It is also a nice spot.

Shivaneri Fort

  • Shivneri, a birth place of Chhatrapati Shivaji (1627), is located at a distance of around 3 km from Junnar (125 km from Pune).
  • There are statues of Jijabai and young Shivaji. At the centre of the fort is a water pond which is called 'Badami Talav'
  • In the fort there are two water springs, namely Ganga-Jamumna, which have water throughout the whole year.
  • Two kilometers away from this fort there are the Lenyadri caves which is one of Ashtavinayaka temple in Maharastra.

Malshej Ghat

  • Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in Pune district of Maharashtra, India.
  • Malshej ghat is situated in Pune district near the borders of Thane and Ahmednagar districts.
  • It is at a distance of 154 km from south Mumbai towards northeast and 130 km north of Pune.
  • The site is nestled in the lofty rugged hills of the Western Ghats. The best time to visit is between August and September.
  • At this time of the year, the hills are clothed in a soothing shade of mint green and the weather is cool due to the monsoons.

Bhima Shankar

  • Bhimashankar Temple is located in the village of Bhorgiri 50 km north west of Khed, near Pune, in India.
  • It is located 127 km away from shivaji nagar(Pune) in the Ghat region of the Sahyadri hills. It takes four hours to reach there.
  • Bhimashankar is also the source of the Bhima river, which flows south east and merges with the Krishna river near Raichur.
  • The Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary located here is a popular weekend getaway from Mumbai and Pune.

Shri Vignahar Ganpati

  • Shri Vighnahar of Ozar situated nearly 100 Meters to the North.
  • Ozar the one of famous Ganpati Shri Vighnahar from Ashtavinayak is becoming number one Devasthan Trust in all ashtavinayak.
  • This temple is located just off the Pune-Nashik Highway, in the town of Ozar.
  • It is enclosed on all sides by high stone walls, and its pinnacle is made of gold.
  • The temple is situated on the banks of river Kukadi.
  • Via Mumbai-Thane-Kalyan-Bapsai-Saralgaon-Otur, Ozar is 182 km.

Lenyadri Ganpati

  • Shri Girijatmak of Lenyadri, situated nearly 17 kilometers North-West.
  • The temple is situated 12 km from Ozar, which is about 94 km from Pune on the Pune-Nashik highway.
  • Nearest railway station is Talegaon.
  • From Junnar, Lenyadri is about 5 km.
  • Shivaneri castle is close by (5 to 6 km) where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born.
